Unaware of the economic difficulties that afflict the rest off the world, Sweden has forgotten its place, and stuck its nose in right where it wasn’t wanted.

Four men behind a file-sharing website that provides British users with thousands of hours of five knuckled delight, were sentenced to a year in jail and ordered to pay £2.5 million in damages yesterday for helping Internet users to download music, films, computer games and porn. In a big victory for the entertainment industries, Fredrik Neij, 30, Gottfrid Svartholm Warg, 24, Peter Sunde Kolmisoppi, 30, and Carl Lundström, 49, were found guilty of breaching copyright law in Sweden, where The Pirate Bay site was founded.

Internets thievery of music, books, t.v. programs, and movies has been widely ignored for the past decade. The primary reason behind the carpet sweeping has been the availability of a porn catalog that far outweighs any moral desire to uphold the law.

Officials and lawmakers have held off attempts to shut-down The Pirate Bay and have instead stuck to prosecuting the occasional ignorant twelve year old girl to fend off accusations of inadequacy. However, it has remained an open secret in the highest offices of Europe and America, that the reason behind the gentle handling of The Pirate Bay, was the smorgasbord of porn offered by the site.

An government aid said on condition of anonymity, “You saw what happened to Jaqui Smith. She wanted to see a couple of hot sluts lezz out one Sunday morning. But instead of going to The Pirate Bay, she paid for that shit, and BAM, the next thing she knows she’s an arsehole thumbing pervert with a penchant for stealing from the public.”

The Pirate Bay has provided a means for the average law abiding citizen to acquire high grade porn of any variety, from girl-on-girl to PVC-clad, animal-related sexual gymnastics. But the ruling from Sweden may lead to the shutting down of the site destroying the ease of access to naked girls everywhere
